The Smoky Mountains

Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a photographer’s dream. I wanted to capture Autumn in Tennessee which passes as quickly as it sets in. But my plans were rained on – literally – as I got caught in the middle of Hurricane Nate. It certainly created some interesting images!

I strapped my camera gear on my back and hiked 37 miles in 4 days to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Yosemite becoming a National Park. Click HERE to see some images.

Barack Obama on the campaign trail

In 2007 and 2008, I decided to join the campaign trail for a few of Obama’s local rallies. The first event was attended by about 40 people. One year later, I was shooting a rally for 18,000 people with a line wrapped around Joe Louis Arena. Two months after that, he would be elected President of the United States of America.

Shootin’ the Moon

I drove into work this morning under the biggest full moon of 2017… at least it appears bigger and brighter  because the moon is at its closest distance to Earth.  Did you miss it? No worries – 2018 will feature two supermoons, one on January 2nd and another just a few weeks later on January 31st. The supermoon on January 31st will also be a blue moon as it is the second full moon in the same month. That’s a supermoon trilogy! To celebrate, here is my favorite lunar photo of 2017. I’m proud of how this one turned out on the horizon. Hardly looks 222,761 miles away!
